The 3.0 version PRO client always shows a message for AutoSync - can I switch it off?

Yes, you can disable it in Menu->Extras->Connection Settings..., Autosync Notifications.

However please note that some Windows Mobile 5 devices have a bug that prevents them from waking up from power off at scheduled times if the visible alert is not switched on. Not all Windows Mobile 5 devices are affected however.

If your device is not affected or you don't need AutoSync when the device is powered off, then you can disable the messages.
